the wine
One of the oldest wine properties in the Stags Leap District, and a different address from its more famous neighbor down the road. The Chardonnay here leans full and textural, with ripe orchard fruit rounded out by a touch of vanilla and toast from time in French oak. Pour it with roast chicken or anything rich and creamy, it has the weight to keep up.

Vines have grown on this stretch of the Silverado Trail since 1872, and the estate's ivy-covered Manor House dates to the 1880s under original owner Horace Chase. Now part of Treasury Wine Estates, Stags' Leap Winery sits in the AVA that carries its name, distinct from its similarly named neighbor down the road.
